Nothing fills a house with the fragrance of the holidays like spices simmering in a pot of hot apple cider. Warming spices like cinnamon and ginger do have an ayurvedic, warming effect on the system. Give a fancy little jar or bag of spices along with a half gallon of good quality cider or a couple of nice mugs. Include instructions for heating a tablespoon of the blend with a pint of cider until the mixture is fragrant and steaming hot.
6 cinnamon sticks
1 ounce crystallized ginger
12 whole cloves

1.) Break the cinnamon sticks into 1-inch pieces; cut the crystallized ginger into bits, and mix the cinnamon and ginger with the cloves.
